About Us

Design Letters was founded in 2009 by the former design journalist & writer Mette Thomsen. Apart from being a true design lover, Mette has also a great passion for letters and words. In the early years, the two things formed the basis of not only the brand’s name, but also Design Letters’ collections including the classic monochrome series of personal cups launched in 2011.

Today, words and letters still play a role in the brand’s DNA, but side by side with a growing collection of original designs and accessories. All with a significant minimalist graphic look and a happy touch of colours which also can be considered as the invisible signature of the female founder.

Design Letters’ collections are developed and designed by our design team in Copenhagen headed by Mette ably assisted by her longtime team member Henrik Casper (MA in Industrial Design).
